  • Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (056800)
    • Program Dates: October 3, 2023 – March 7, 2024

    • Medical billing and coding specialists play a vital role in today's healthcare industry. Whether employed by a private practice, hospital, clinic, surgery center, or other setting, medical billers and coders use codes to document patient diagnoses and treatments. Their duties include reading and analyzing patient records, determining correct codes for patient records, using codes to bill insurance providers, keeping track of patient data, managing detailed, specifically coded information, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Pharmacy Technician (05799)
    • Program Dates: October 3, 2023 – March 19, 2024
    • Day/Time: Tuesdays, 6:00-9:30p, and Saturdays 9:00a-12:30pm
    • Location: Online
    • Fees: $2,399.00 + textbooks (approx. $300.00)
    • Train to assist the pharmacist in preparing and mixing prescriptions, maintaining patient records, purchasing and inventory management, billing and reimbursement, and more. Topics include: pharmacology for technicians, pharmacy law and regulations, sterile and non-sterile compounding, quality assurance, and medication safety.

      The pharmacy technician program includes a 120-hour externship, where the student will receive hands-on training in a local pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist.This program prepares students to sit for the PTCE and/or ExCPT exams (not included in fees) and meets the training requirements for licensure by the California Board of Pharmacy.

  • Interested in health care? Increase your medical field knowledge by enrolling in one or both of these classes. These trainings are for those who are employed, or seeking employment, in a medical office setting and will be working under the supervision of a physician. They meet the standards and qualifications established by the Division of Allied Health Professionals, Board of Medical Quality Assurance, and State of California.

 

  • Truck Driving
    • Dates for the Spring 2024 class are TBD.

    • Program costs: $4,295.00 (does not include permit, DOT exam, drug screening, DMV driving exam fees)
    • The CR Trick Driving program is a 6 week course, with classroom, driving and observation times, all required by the Federal Motor Carrier’s Administration (FMCSA)
    • Pathways for the program:
      1. Attend 1 of the mandatory informational meetings that are held
      2. Attend all pre-class meetings
        • **Required documents that can be obtained between the dates for #1 and #2
        • CA Driver’s License
        • Department of Transportation Medical Exam
        • Class A Learner’s Permit
          • Written Tests on General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combo Vehicles
          • DMV Driving record print out (must be within 1 week of meetings)
      3. Submit / pass a random drug screening (arranged and scheduled by CR)
      4. After all of these steps have been completed, a lottery drawing is held.
        • There 8 seats in each program. Everyone eligible will be drawn and assigned a #.
        • -Classroom portion: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00-8:30pm
        • -Driving / Observation: Arranged with classmates and instructor, before 1st day of class, @ Orientation Meeting (also mandatory) Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays (am and pm slots), or Tuesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays

 

  • Phlebotomy
    • Fall 2023, Eureka: Program has already started.
      • Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-9:00pm
      • Next program in Eureka will be Fall 2024

    • Spring 2024, Del Norte: January 2024 – April 2024 (actual dates tbd)
      • Saturdays, 9:00am-4:30pm
      • Informational meeting will be held (date tbd) This meeting is not required, but highly recommended
      • Fees: $1,995.00      
    • The complete Phlebotomy Program includes 90 hour  of didactic instruction and a clinical rotation consisting of a minimum of 40 hours. Students must successfully complete the didactic portion with overall grade of 75% to be eligible to continue onto the clinical portion of the program.
    • Nationally certified phlebotomists can work in multiple health care settings, including medical offices, hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
