President’s Q&A Hour to be webcast Tuesday, Nov. 10 Nov. 9, 2009
CR President's weekly question-and-answer hour will go high-tech once a month starting Tuesday, Nov. 10. He will be answering questions while in the Eureka campus Learning Resource Center Distance Education studio room 105 from 2 to 3 p.m.

He will be webcast live with Director of Communications and Marketing Paul DeMark serving as the monitor and posing the questions to the President. (DeMark said he will NOT be preparing an introductory comedic monologue.)

CR’s fall enrollment up 18 percent compared to last year Nov. 9, 2009
“Our community is worth a million bucks.”

College of the Redwoods is experiencing a record enrollment boost this fall compared to fall 2008 (an 18 percent increase in headcount and a 15 percent increase in Full-time Equivalent Student or FTES). Based on available data and trends, the College is expected to increase in FTES approximately 18 percent for 2009-2010.

Emerging myths addressed by President’s Cabinet Nov. 9, 2009
CR President and his Cabinet (Vice President of Student Services Keith Snow-Flamer, Vice President of Instruction Marjorie Carson, Vice President of Administrative Services Ruth Bettenhausen, and Director of Human Resources Mike Wells) have provided clarifying responses regarding several concerns have been circulating throughout the District.

College hosts 2nd annual Career Technical Education Showcase Nov. 9, 2009
CR will host the second annual Career Technical Education Showcase on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the main Eureka campus.

Last year’s event, which was suggested by several faculty members, drew an estimated 250 community members to campus. Approximately 75 new students registered for classes that day or soon after.
