Evelyn Wiebe Anderson, Adjunct Instructor of Nursing, Eureka Campus
What do you love most about teaching at CR?
I love being a part of student's learning journey. Our College of the Redwoods Nursing Program provides a glimpse of the enormous variety of nursing career options. We could not do this without the support our local community.
Is there anything else you would like your students to know about you?
As a community/home health nurse I see the vital connection between our school and the local healthcare agencies on a daily basis. When students become my colleagues I feel both honored and privileged
Evelyn Wiebe-Anderson has been teaching part-time in the CR nursing program since 2004. She has worked in a wide variety of nursing areas since receiving a BSN in Kansas 1985, but her favorite and most recent nursing experience is that of a home health nurse. Evelyn completed her Master of Science in Nursing at CSU Chico in 2012, and plans to further her education as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Regardless of the direction of her future, she wishes to share with her students that no learning experience is wasted and nursing is a career well suited to life-long learning and putting evidence into practice! Evelyn also enjoys gardening, watercolor painting, volunteering in the community, and hiking in the wilderness with her family and friends.
