9-Hole Disc Golf Course

Looking for something fun to do in town? How about playing disc golf? As of June 29th, there is finally a disc golf course in the city of Fort Bragg! To celebrate this new addition, the community is invited to the Opening Day of College of the Redwoods, Mendocino Coast campus 9-hole disc golf course on Saturday, July 11th from 1- 4 p.m.

For those who would like to learn the game of disc golf, there will be seasoned players who will be available to provide an overview of the game, discuss the course layout, and share tips and strategies. For those disc golf enthusiasts, you no longer have to drive to Ukiah, Willits, or Santa Rosa to play. Just come on by and test your skills with this par 3 course—which can be quite challenging given the tall grasses, overgrown shrubs, and hole locations. For those who will not be able to make it to Opening Day on 7/11, stop by the campus (park at the south end of the long parking lot) when you can and play some disc golf for free! Be sure to bring your friends and family along, and bring several discs with you (just in case you lose one).

CR would like to thank these volunteers for their time, energy, and hard work for helping us set up our 9-hole course: Vincent Koski, Sue Crawford, Aaron Brun, Jacob and Jevyn Brose, Josh Greenwalt, Adam Parker, Vincent Lee, Dawnel Greer, Jody Partages, Bryan Bates, Ryan Magee, Dan  Breed, Lindy Peters, Jansen Fick, Teri Jo Barber, Charlie and Jack Claybrook, and David Maki. They each made a huge difference by volunteering to do the heavy lifting, such as digging and removing dirt from the hole and tee locations, mixing-and-pouring cement, picking up countless bags of trash, and putting in and securing the metal baskets and chains. It is because of them that we now have our disc golf course available for all to play.

We hope to see you on our campus playing disc golf soon!
