Coach Mora, who is entering his fourth year as head coach at College of the Redwoods in the fall of 2014, was the Big Five’s Most Valuable Player his senior basketball season at Fortuna High in 1995. Following his time with the Huskies, Mora went on to star at Cuesta Junior College in San Luis Obispo for two seasons, averaging 14 points, 6.3 rebounds and two assists per game his sophomore year. The Cougars went 33-5 that season, finishing the year as the seventh ranked team in the state. Mora then moved on to Division-II basketball at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Az., where he played for two seasons. Following his playing career, Mora was an assistant coach at Fortuna from 2000-2007, and was then named head coach at Ferndale in 2008. In his first season with the Wildcats, Mora led the team to its first playoff berth in 28 years, and in his third year, helped the team win its first North Coast Section championship in school history, which the Wildcats repeated last season.


Barry Mendenhall

Coach Mendenhall, who is enering his fourth season at CR in the fall of 2014, has more than 28 years of coaching, scouting and recruiting experience and has now coached at eight different schools, including Piner, Saratoga, Santa Teresa and Fortuna high schools, Santa Rosa and West Valley junior colleges, the University of Idaho and CR. Mendenhall coached under four-time California Community College Coach of the Year, Bob Burton, at West Valley. In addition to coaching teams, Mendenhall has coached at or directed more than 100 basketball camps in his career.
