TESTING AND ASSESSMENT
CR’s academic counselors and advisors use multiple measures to develop individualized educational plans and to help place students in the classes that are most likely to maximize their success.

Students with special testing needs should be sure to request accommodations prior to testing.  Contact the Disabled Students Programs and Services office or individual counselors/advisors for more specific information. Special needs accommodations require advanced planning and documentation.

ENGLISH AND MATH PLACEMENT TEST
Placement testing using Accuplacer online to assess English and math skills is scheduled before each semester. Check the current class schedule for testing dates or contact an individual counselor/advisor.

ABILITY TO BENEFIT (A.T.B.) TEST
College of the Redwoods, Del Norte offers a free Ability to Benefit Test for students without a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate who want to qualify for financial aid. For more information contact a counselor/advisor.

GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (G.E.D.) TEST
College of the Redwoods, Del Norte Education Center is an authorized test center for administration of the General Education Development test.  The G.E.D. test is designed to provide an opportunity for adults who have not graduated from high school to earn a high school equivalency diploma. The current fee for the exam is $100.  Adults interested in taking this exam must fill out an application a week prior to the scheduled exam and should contact Enrollment Services for further information.  The 2006 scheduled exam dates are as follows:  June 17, August 19, October 21, and December 9. The tests are administered from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
